This menu allows you to configure Simple Network Management Protocol settings in FreshTomato.

SNMP is a simple protocol used for network monitoring. It collects and organizes information about managed devices on TCP/IP networks, and allows you to modify that information to change device behavior.

SNMP has a simple client-server architecture. In SNMP, servers (called managers) collect and process information about devices on the network.

In SNMP, the clients, called “agents”, are any type of device or component connected to the network. That can include computers, but also other network hardware, such as network equipment, phones, IoT devices, and others.

SNMP exposes management data in the form of variables on the managed systems organized in a management information base (MIB), which describes the system status and configuration. These variables can then be remotely queried (and sometimes manipulated) by managing applications.
