3) From the Wireless Mode dropdown, select Media Bridge. After selecting it, the WAN options will be hidden.

  • Wireless Network Mode: Auto (all possible 802.11n/g/ac)
  • SSID: WlanSSID_you_want_to_connect_to
  • Channel: WlanChannel_you_want_to_connect_to
  • Channel Width: 20 MHz, 40 MHz or 80 MHz
  • Security: WPAx (usually WPA2 Personal)
  • Encryption: AES
  • Shared Key: WlanPassword_you_want_to_connect_to
  • Group Key Renewal: 3600 seconds

4) LAN:

  • br0: IP Address: please select an IP address within the network you want to connect to. (For example: 192.168.1.50).
  • Default Gateway: 192.168.1.1 (this example assumes your main FT router has IP address 192.168.1.1).
  • For Static DNS: use 192.168.1.1 (this example assumes your main FT router has IP address 192.168.1.1).

Advantages of media bridge (MB) mode compared to wireless ethernet bridge mode:

  • MB mode will work with SDK7 arm router like AC3200 / R8000 (wireless ethernet bridge not working/possible)
  • MB mode will work with SDK6 mips router like Asus RT-AC66U, D‑Link DIR‑865L, … (wireless ethernet bridge not working/possible)
  • MB mode will work with SDK6 arm router like Asus RT-AC68U, Netgear R7000, … (wireless ethernet bridge also possible)
  • IPv4 and IPv6 communication will work (wireless ethernet bridge is IPv4 communication only; Execption: SDK6 arm dual-core will allow IPv6)
