This is an old revision of the document!
Here you can enable the internal media server (minidlna) which allows you to share media content, for example, from attached USB storage towards DLNA clients.
Enable: Enable/Disable the DLNA service.
Listen on: Define the bridge on which to advertise the service.
Port: Enter a static port where the service is reachable. Minidlna will publish the port in its active network advertisements.
Database Location: Defines where the database of the local media is stored. This is built automatically after a scan.
Rescan on the next run: Media are scanned periodically, but you can trigger a scan by selecting this option/saving.
TiVo Support: Adhere to the TiVo standards in case you a TiVo client.
Strictly adhere to DLNA standards: Enabling this may increase compatibility with old client devices that have issues.
Media Directories: Define where the actual media is. To exclude a subdirectory from scans, place an empty file with name:
.minidlnaignore
in the filesystem.
For example:
cd /mnt/usb/media/private
touch .minidlnaignore
